Audubon Mural Project Tour with Leigh Hallingby (9/25)

The Audubon Mural Project is an exciting effort to create murals of over 300 birds in the northern Manhattan neighborhoods of Hamilton Heights and Washington Heights. As all the birds painted are threatened by climate change, the project is designed not only to help us appreciate the beauty of the birds, but also make us aware of the challenges they face. In addition to seeing about 30 murals on our walk through the urban landscape, we will visit John James Audubon's gravesite in the Trinity Church cemetery. 

$20 for NYC Audubon members, $30 for non-members. Limited to 25 people. 
 

While John James Audubon’s art did inspire many of the muralists’ work, he left a racist legacy and held beliefs that are antithetical to those of NYC Audubon, which works to connect all people to the natural world.
