PROJECT PRITHVI BEACH CLEANUP

With Sadhana: Coalition of Progressive Hindus, Faith in New York, Gateway National Recreation Area

For International Coastal Cleanup Day, we are partnering with Sadhana's Project Prithvi Beach Cleanup at Jamaica Bay on September 4. Gloves, garbage bags, and pickers will be provided for the cleanup, as well as snacks, water, and a light lunch. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. Bring a bottle of water. Verification letters will be provided for those who need to certify volunteer hours for school or community purposes. The group meets at the red brick gazebo structure at North Channel Bridge. There is no street address for exact location. Search "Crossbay Bridge North Channel Bridge Kayak Launch" into your GPS/map service. Google Map of meeting location is linked here. 

Driving directions

From North, East, and West:

• Belt Parkway to Exit 17 S, Cross Bay Boulevard.
• Proceed south on Cross Bay Boulevard across the Joseph P. Addabbo - North Channel Bridge.
• Once you cross the bridge, parking is available on both sides.

From the South (and alternate route from other directions):

• Beach Channel Drive to the Cross Bay - Veterans Memorial Bridge.
• Cross the bridge toward Broad Channel.
• Follow Cross Bay Boulevard through Broad Channel.
• Parking is available on both sides of the road right before the Joseph P. Addabbo Bridge.

Public Transportation

• Take the Q21 from the Queens Center Mall (Elmhurst) or 116th Street (Rockaway).
• Take the Q53 from 61st and Roosevelt Avenue (Woodside). Please note that the Q53 is a +select bus service.
