Description

Interested in learning about gulls but don't know where to start? Join NYC Audubon's Ryan F. Mandelbaum for a gull-watching lesson on Coney Island beach. This will be a different kind of birding than you might be used to; rather than looking for many different species of birds, we'll be looking for the three or four different plumages of our three wintering gull species while discussing how to pick out some of our less common visitors.

The group will meet at the public restroom at the end of Stillwell Avenue. Dress warmly!

Registration not required but encouraged. No limit. Free.

Note on Accessibility:

Coney Island's wooden boardwalk is flat, but be prepared to step onto the beach itself. The D, F, N, and Q trains stop closest to the meeting location at the Coney Island-Stillwell Av stop.
