For our last lecture for this year's Winter Lecture Series, join NYC Audubon and esteemed author, Amy Tan, for a fireside chat! You may know her as the author of The Joy Luck ClubThe Kitchen God's WifeThe Chinese Siamese Cat (later adapted to the beloved animated series, Sagwa), and more, but did you know that she is also an avid birder? Join us as we talk all things birds, from their conservation to learning how to illustrate them, as well as Amy's newest book, The Backyard Bird Chronicles, set to release in April 2024.

 

You can pre-order The Backyard Bird Chronicles today on Little City Books' website. Each book will come with a bookplate signed by Amy Tan herself.

 

About the Speaker:

Amy Tan has written novels, memoirs, children’s books, a libretto, and a screenplay. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the recipient of a National Humanities Medal, an instructor on writing for the online program Masterclass, and the subject of an American Masters documentary. Ever the bird-lover, Amy is also on the board of the American Bird Conservancy.  She currently splits her time living in Sausalito, California and New York City.
