Description

Join NYC Audubon, the Public Housing Community Fund, and the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy for a NYCHA in Nature event as part of the Jamaica Bay Festival on City of Water Day! This particular outing will take place as part of Annual Fun in the Sun Day with Kayaking at Beach 43rd Street. Enjoy birding with us and other activities with our partners including kayaking in the bay!

We will bird along the water's edge starting at 598A Beach 43rd St, Far Rockaway, NY 11691 and venture into nearby Bayswater Park. Registration not required but encouraged (it helps know how many binoculars we should bring!). No limit. Free.

NYCHA in Nature is a partnership program with NYC Audubon and the Public Housing Community Fund to offer birding opportunities and exposure to nature for NYCHA residents and the general public. The program will explore adjacent parks to NYCHA developments and also open space within the developments.

Note on Accessibility:

The meeting spot is a short distance away from the Q22 and QM17 bus stops. Bayswater Park has public restrooms on Beach Channel Drive and Bay 32 Street. For more information, you can visit the NYC Parks website.
