NOTE: The Governors Island Bird Tour scheduled for 7/29 is still taking place at the usual time, but it should be noted that temperatures are estimated to rise above 90 degrees. Please prepare accordingly. This outing begins at NYC Audubon's Seasonal Environmental Center on Governors Island (Nolan Park House 17).

Nearly 240 bird species have been spotted on Governors Island, which provides excellent habitat all year round. Whether you’re an expert birder or a beginner, these tours will help you discover all of the birdlife the island has to offer. Binoculars are available to borrow.

The tour will meet on Governors Island in front of Nolan Park House #17. No registration required. Free.

Note on Accessibility:

The Governors Island ferry is free on weekends before noon, but if you plan to arrive in the afternoon, you will need to purchase ferry tickets. Governors Island contains a variety of terrain, from hilly, grassy areas to paved and cobble stone paths. The latter can be difficult to walk on with strollers, for example. Public restrooms are located a short distance away from the Nolan Park House.
